This book is hilarious!
We've had numerous conversations in our house as to which approach is 'correct" when it comes to dishwasher stacking. So I bought this book to settle it once and for all! I'm not sure whether it was my wife or I who one at the end, but we learned quite a lot about how to optimize it anyway. I didn't even know our dishwasher had a filter that needed cleaning!

The key to a well-run home.
This book is truly the foundation for a well-run home. Thanks Hayden for sharing your saving my marriage. With a wonderful book to give to the family.
The Story Behind the Book

For years, Hayden has been our household’s master dishwasher stacker. Everything has its place, every angle is considered, and no space is wasted. Whenever I loaded it, he would quietly rearrange things. Eventually, I gave up and said, “You can do it.”
He often talked about writing a book to teach me—and anyone else who needed guidance—the correct way to stack a dishwasher. According to Hayden, of course.
One Christmas, I decided it was time to turn all that talk into a book. Having spent years talking about writing myself, I knew how easily that could continue. As a bit of fun, I drafted a title, an introduction and even a dedication to get him started:
“Dedicated to my lovely wife, Jo, with everlasting hope that one day she will learn to stack the dishwasher the way I do.”
Then it was over to Hayden to share his expertise in his own words.
What followed combines his precision and practical knowledge with the sense of humour that keeps our family laughing. Many of the photographs came from my family—who may also be responsible for my approach to stacking.
At its heart, this book is a little piece of our family life: the laughter, the different ways we approach everyday tasks, and one man’s enduring hope that the rest of us will eventually learn to do it his way.
